A Theoretical and Practical Course in

X-ray External Beam Therapy Physics

 

RTRP Environment Ltd is holding a training course (with the above title) in collaboration with the Rafik Hariri University Hospital (RHUH), Beirut, Lebanon from 06/06/2010 to 10/06/2010. There will be an introductory fee of $650, which will include accommodation and food (please see the details of the training course below). The date was extended to give opportunity for more participants to register in the course.

The main speakers are:

1)     Mr. Ibrahim Duhaini, Chief Physicist of Radiation Therapy Department at RHUH, Beirut, Lebanon and MEFOMP President.

2)      Mr. Henry Lawrence, Head of Radiation Metrology Department at Bristol University Hospital, Bristol, UK. He is also Director/ Consultant of the RTRP Environment, UK.

3)      Dr. Abdul Kadir Ismail, Recently retired Medical Physics expert at the Royal Surrey County Hospital (linked to Surrey University), Guildford, Surrey, UK.  He is also Director/ Consultant of the RTRP Environment, UK.

4)      Dr. Ihsan Al-Affan, Director of the RTRP Environment, UK.

 

In order to give enough time for practical sessions there are only 24 spaces available. This course is suitable for medical physicists, radiographers, technicians, oncologists and nurses who would like to cover some aspects of external beam therapy at elementary and intermediate levels.

11:00 am         Measurements of Ionising Radiation

12:00 am         Calibration of X-rays from Linac
